Healthcare Reform is a huge pet peeve for me these days.  Let's take a look at it from the beginning.  In the mid 1800's, it became prudent for people to have "injury insurance".  In it's rudimentary principals it was a very good concept.  But, in my opinion, it has become corrupt and has led to inefficiencies which have resulted in many unnecesary costs.

This, plus the overwhelming amount of people that abuse the emergency medical system and even worse, call 911 for a ride to the ER.  The ambulance "transports" the patient to the ER, but they if the patient is underinsured, or uninsured, the EMS service does not get for all or part of the services that they provided.

Now, I should point out that I am a humanitarian.  If someone needs help, I help them.  It doesn't matter if they are a family member, a friend, or even a stranger.  If another human being needs help and we can help them, then most of us do.   This is the heart of why I feel that it is not prudent and reasonable for the federal governenment to feel compelled to require healthcare coverage for everyone.

The last time that I checked, I lived in the home of the brave and the land of the free?  I'd like to know exactlty when we changed our mantra in this country and began to allow our government to subvert the rights thats we fought so hard to earn.
